Who we are

nZEB Ireland is an independent and not for profit organization born in 2018 with the scope of filling the knowledge gap about nearly Zero Energy Buildings in Ireland. The Directors board is formed by experts in various construction industry sectors, ranging from surveying, architecture and engineering to academia, training and the media.

The association welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with local authorities and communities, and any other commercial or voluntary organizations which share the same purposes. As a membership-based association nZEB Ireland benefits from the support of its affiliated company members.

The Mission

The deadline for nearly Zero Energy Buildings to become a mandatory standard is approaching fast and will be affecting both private and public entities. The upcoming regulation is posing a significant challenge to the construction industry in terms of upskilling, delivery methods and mindset change. Despite the urgency of this binding transition, many aspects remain uncertain and not fully understood. For this reason, the mission of nZEB Ireland is to act as a facilitator towards the implementation of the European Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD), to offer an open platform for all those who want to enrich or share their knowledge around nearly zero energy buildings, and most important to show how to deliver nZEB ensuring the highest quality standards.

What we do

nZEB Ireland is committed to provide information and resources for a better understanding of nearly Zero Energy Buildings to the broadest audience, inside and outside the construction industry.
